Foulkeways at Gwynedd has been setting the standards of excellence in retirement communities since 1967 when their not-for-profit community was established through the dedicated efforts of Gwynedd Meeting and in affiliation with the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers). This "friendly community" was the first Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) in Pennsylvania and the first Quaker retirement community in the nation.
