Featured First Friday Musicians for August 06,2010
BIO: Rock & Roll After School® is an innovative music school where kids ages 8 to 18 can learn guitar, bass, drums, keys, vocals and DJing. Unlike traditional music schools or lessons, Rock & Roll After School functions as combination music school and after-school community center - where kids interact as they explore their musical pursuits, and where they learn to write and play their own music.
BIO: After years of touring the local Philly club scene (Rick Toure from “Pladd” and Mike Carlin from “The Deckheds” and “Spankin’ Stanley”), the two met and formed “Rick & MC”, a powerduo with a sound that’s surprisingly, well, BIG! Specializing in crisp harmonies, an eclectic mix of covers and originals, and an engaging onstage presence, Rick & MC have taken their show to venues all over PA-NJ and NY, performing together since 2006.
Members : Rick Toure (guitar/vocals), Mike Carlin (percussion/ vocals) Influences: The Beatles, Neil Young, Classic Rock of the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s Sounds Like: CSN, Simon & Garfunkel, The Beatles - anything with great harmonies Venues: The Hollywood Tavern, Molly Maguire’s, Traxx Sports Pub, NYC’s Washington Square Park, KC’s Alley Website: www.rickandmc.com

The North Penn United Way's Mission is quite simple "To mobilize the
caring power of the greater North Penn and Indian Valley communities".
Their vision; "The North Penn and Indian Valley community is a place
where all residents in need have the opportunity to acheive a vibrant
and healthy quality of life." Now they just need enough volunteers to
make their mission and vision a reality.
Saint Stanislaus School prides itself on demonstrating a strong spiritual foundation, excellence in academics, stimulating curriculum, and a safe learning environment to guide and prepare their students for life’s journey.
Come to Lansdale on market days to stock up on locally produced
vegetables and other tasty foods, wine, and well-made local handicrafts.
But the Market will offer you more than that. In Railroad Plaza on
Saturday mornings, you will be treated to an education, entertainment,
and the enjoyment of gathering with one’s neighbors and friends, old and
new, in a spirit of celebration.
